It is important to everyone at SAS that we work for a socially responsible company and are able to make a positive contribution to society. As a profitable organisation, we believe it is necessary to donate financially and have carefully selected a few charities are doing great things, both in the UK and overseas.
Every year, one in four of us will experience a mental health problem. But hundreds of thousands of people are still struggling.
When you're experiencing a mental health problem, supportive and reliable information can change your life. That's what Mind do, by empowering people to understand their condition and the choices available to them.
Mind provides help and support directly to those who need it most. Their network of around 135 local Minds offer specialised support and care based on the needs of the communities they support.
Microtia is a rare condition resulting in under developed ears and associated hearing loss. The condition can vary in severity and affects 1 in 6,000 babies.
Affecting more boys than girls, Microtia is most common to occur in one ear, however unfortunately 1 in 10 children suffer with the condition in both ears.
Established in 2013, Microtia UK holds regular family information events, and have been able to support medical and psychological research through the provision of grants. The charity is a great support for new parents, and has gone on to produce a nationally recognised ‘New Parents Guide’.
